| Frequently Asked Questions |
Who do we serve?
The Hope Center for Teens, Inc. serves pregnant adolescents in the Northwest Florida community of Escambia and surrounding counties. The Northwest Florida community has demonstrated a need for a maternity home dedicated to adolescents dealing with unplanned pregnancies.
What do we do?
This project meets the needs of pregnant adolescents, their children, and the community by promoting education, counseling, community outreach, and transitional services. These services will likely decrease the occurrence of adolescent pregnancy and increase the likelihood that the teens served will become more productive and independent citizens in our community. We collaborate with various agencies in the community to achieve these goals.
Where is the home located?
The Hope Center is centrally located in Escambia County. The location provides accessibility to the transit system, vocational resources, community activities, and medical facilities.
Why are these services needed?
These services are desperately needed because Escambia County ranks 10th out of 67 counties in Florida for the number of adolescent (ages 10-19) pregnancies.
What kinds of services are offered to the residents?
The young mothers are a part of a program that includes parenting skills, independent living skills, health and nutrition groups, group counseling, individual counseling, and case management services.
